I never made balloon decorations until I had my first son. Maybe there's a balloon gene that kicks in when you become a mother because as soon as I had my first child, I could never let a birthday pass without coming up with some new balloon decoration ideas. The first few years, I would only work to cover the ceiling with helium balloons but as my children have aged, my talents have slowly improved.

Picking a favorite movie character, cartoon character or sport gives you a lot of material to work with in coming up with decoration ideas for kid birthday parties. Get creative and use some balloon twisting instructions to make unique decorations. For instance, if you are throwing a birthday party for a young boy who loves baseball, use #260 sized twisting balloons to make baseball bats and regular white balloons inflated less than half way to make baseballs.
